We are having so much fun, and the week seems to be flying by. We had rain in the forcast today but only saw a few drops so we were able to do all of our scheduled activities. We had a board decorating contest and we have some very artistic kids here. Our top four winners were Abby Brittain, Finn Tollefsen, Amy Donlon and Carol Myers. We will breaking the boards tomorrow.

Day 3: The Fun Continues
Many of the kids have said this was their favorite day so far. During cabin inspection this morning, Mr. Johnson's cabin threw Mr. Chris Miller a surprise birthday party (his birthday is not until the 15th) complete with banners, balloons and noisemakers. We had to give them credit for creativity. Amy Donlon won overall cabin inspection and won points for her team. After the morning workout, we had a flying sidekick contest. Zealand Silver, Jonathan Shiberou, Katarina Tate, Olivia Imig, Carol Myers, Jovantae McCray, Michael Potter, Matt Myers and Ricky Ambrose won their divisions. We had a great (sweaty) sparring session in the lodge and the kids got to spar with several kids from other schools. We ended the day with Capture the Flag, which is always a camp favorite.
Here are some pictures of our day.

Chapter Two
We had another great day today. After a hearty breakfast, we had our first cabin inspection. All of our campers (mostly) did a great job cleaning their area and keeping up with their belongings. After a really tough decision, Mr. Steven Miller's cabin won inspection for the day. We spent some time working out and practicing our patterns, but we spent even more time playing. We had a very exciting game of steal the bacon this morning and this afternoon the blue team won the dodge ball tournament. We ended the evening with game night in the cafeteria. Camp is running smoothly and everyone is having a blast!

So It Begins...
Our first day at camp was a huge success! We started with a line up on the field to go over the basic rules of camp. Afterwards, we met with our teams to play a game and decorated our team flags. The flags were later judged on creativity, originality, team participation and overall appearance. The Yellow team won first place for their design. We had a bonfire after dinner where we learned more about all of the counselors and told a few camp stories. Some of the older kids shared some great advice with all of the kids. We ended our day with a flashlight tag game called "Ghost in the graveyard". All of the kids are having a blast and making friends quickly! We have some great things planned for this week and will update you as the days go by.
